| THS basketball to host summer camp |
|
The defending district 13-5A champions will be holding their 2009 Tomball Cougar Basketball Camp for boys from June 8 until 11. The camp is designed to teach all participants the fundamentals of the game, with an emphasis on shooting mechanics and individual offensive skills. Other areas of instruction include ball handling, passing, rebounding and defensive skills. The camp will also serve as an introduction to Cougar basketball for incoming freshman, as offensive and defensive team concepts will be introduced and developed. Students participating in the camp will not only learn, but practice the same drills, fundamentals, terminology and offensive and defensive strategies they will need to be familiar with when they start playing on the high school level. There will also be plenty of games, contests and awards this year. Athletes from first to sixth grade will be instructed at Tomball High School from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Seventh, eighth, and ninth graders will be at Willowood Junior High from 1 to 4 p.m. The cost of the camp is $90 dollars, $25 of which is non-refundable. Registration is underway. The deadline is the first day of camp. All fees or registration forms should be mailed to 30330 Quinn Rd. Tomball TX, 77375. For any questions regarding the camp or registration, contact Coach Brad Ball or Assistant Coach Jim Kearns at 281-357-3220, ext. 2457.
