WHS volleyball begins second round of district play

rayburn The Waller High School Lady Bulldog varsity volleyball team kicked off the second round of district play with a 5-4 district record and an overall record of 22-9. On Oct. 6, the Lady Bulldogs were defeated by Brenham (9-25, 16-25, 10-25), but beat Huntsville in four games (25-22, 20-25, 26-24, 25-17) three days later.

Senior Kallie Carpenter led the team with 17 kills and a 2.5 serve/receive for the week. Junior libero Emily Wood led with 55 digs, and sophomore Kamryn Dimas led the team with 33 assists. Junior middle blockers McCale Fite and Tori Bradbury had a strong week as well. Fite had 14 kills, and Bradbury had 14 kills, three block assists, and three solo blocks. Senior Kaydee Rayburn was named varsity player of the week for seven kills, 33 digs, and a 2.6 serve receive.
