Waller volleyball takes first round playoff game over Elgin

whs volleyball The Waller Lady Bulldog varsity volleyball team defeated Elgin High School in five sets (10-25, 25-17, 25-19, 17-25, 15-11) Nov. 3 in the first round of the 4A playoffs. Elgin finished first in District 17-4A.

 

The Lady Bulldogs fought hard and took control of the match in the fifth game to take the win. Senior captain Kallie Carpenter led the team with 12 kills. She also added 12 digs. Senior Kaydee Rayburn led the team in the back court with 29 digs and had eight kills for the night. 

 

Junior libero Emily Wood led the team with a strong serve receive and added 18 digs. Setter Kamryn Dimas was tops in assists with 32. McCale Fite had seven kills and 10 digs, and Tori Bradbury had five kills, two block assists, and one solo block. Lindsey Yanchak led the team with five service aces, and Camile Brown had five kills.

 

The Lady Bulldogs are now 26-11 for the season. They took on Kingwood Park on Nov. 6 in the second round. Results of that game were unavailable at press time last week.
