Cougar ace Lancaster signs with SHSU

lancaster signing Tomball Lady Cougar pitcher Shelby Lancaster was among dozens of Houston area high school students last week who signed national letters of intent. Lancaster signed a scholarship offer to Sam Houston State University, where she will play as a member of the Lady Bearkats team beginning in the spring of 2011. Lancaster said she chose Sam Houston State among several other schools that were interested because of the school’s proximity to Tomball, and because of the offer the school made. Lancaster has been a standout pitcher for the Lady Cougar softball team during her three years on varsity. Last year, she compiled a 17-3 record and a 1.42 ERA.
