MWHS duo, MHS team headed to state swim and dive meet

The Magnolia High School girls swimming and diving team won its first Region 5 4A competition the weekend of Feb. 13, which was held at the Magnolia ISD Natatorium. The team will not compete in the 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships, scheduled for Feb. 27-28 in Austin. The team qualified individuals and relay teams in every event except the 100-meter Butterfly. Coach Erin Galloway was also named District and Region Coach of the Year.

In addition, Magnolia West High School will send two swimmers to the state meet, including 100-meter Backstroke top seed Allie Sullins. Noel Niccum goes into the state meet with the ninth best time in the 200-meter Individual Medley and the seventh best time in the 100-meter Breaststroke.
