|
Now that the 2009 high school football season has wrapped up with last weekend’s state title games, All-District teams are being announced across the state. Last week, 13-5A announced its All-District honorees and, as expected, standout wide receiver Jordan Leslie garnered First Team recognition. Leslie was one of the leading receivers in the Houston area, catching 61 passes for 798 yards and nine touchdowns. His 61 catches led all players in 13-5A, with Westfield’s CJ Jones second with 37. Garnering second team honors were running back Derrick Lovick, offensive lineman Logan Frey, defensive lineman Shane Privette, linebacker Sam Dyson and defensive back Greg Langford. Lovick was a standout in a district chock full of 1,000-yard rushers, finishing sixth in the district with 919 yards on the ground and seven touchdowns. Earning honorable mention were linebackers Bryce Siecko, Kevin Jackson and Sedrick Stevenson, quarterback Lance Ester, offensive lineman Marcus Dabney, defensive lineman Bryar Flores, tight end Matt Marfisi and wide receiver Brian Angelle.
