Cougars upset Highlanders

The Tomball Cougars boys basketball team pulled off a mild upset with an 80-73 win over The Woodlands Highlanders Dec. 22 at Tomball High School. The Highlanders went into the game with a 12-2 record, while the Cougars came in at 9-6. Trailing by six at halftime, 37-31, the Cougars came out on fire in the second half. In the third quarter, Tomball outscored the Highlanders 27-12 to take a 58-49 lead. The Cougars’ Jordan Leslie led all scorers with 24 points. Wes Cole led the Highlanders with 14 points.
