| WHS Lady Bulldogs basketball continues battle in district |

The Waller High School Lady Bulldogs basketball team recently played the last two games of round one in District 18-4A. On Tuesday, Jan. 12, the Lady Bulldogs fought the Caney Creek Panthers for their first district win, 53-32. Kayla Bell scored 12 points, had seven rebounds and three steals to lead the way for Waller. Other contributors were Allison Bonner and Brittany Houle with nine points each.
On Friday, Jan. 15, the Lady Bulldogs hosted the Brenham Cubettes. After playing hard for four quarters, the Lady Bulldogs found themselves short of a win. The final score was 54-42. Major contributors were Samantha Crockett, Shauntanay Jeffery and Brittany Houle. Crockett had five points, four steals, four assists and three rebounds. Jeffery scored 15 points and had three steals. Houle scored nine points, pulled down seven rebounds, and added one steal, an assist and a block.The Varsity Player of Week was Samantha Crockett.
