The St. Anne Girls varsity girls’ basketball team recently completed its 2009-10 season with a remarkable 20-6 record and the North District Championship. The Crusaders also finished third among 38 schools in the in Galveston-Houston Diocese.

After completing the regular season atop the North District with a 6-0 record, the team defeated St. Cecilia and Resurrection in the first two rounds of the playoffs, advancing to the semi-finals, where the girls lost a hard-fought game to St. Thomas More.

The Crusaders then went on to defeat John Paul II, securing a Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association (GHCAA) third place finish, the highest for a St. Anne girls basketball team since 2005-06 when the girls won the GHCAA championship.
